- Got to enjoy some quality time with Mr. Short and Munchkin Short.
- Encouraged Munchkin Short to 'dance' A LOT. She does this 'dance' where she stands in one spot and stomps her foot repeatedly, it cracks me and Mr. Short up every time.
- Took Munchkin Short to the doctor for what should be her 1 year Well Child appointment, but is closer to her 15 month Well Child. Learned that she is almost 26 lbs., hitting all her milestones just fine and then she got her last Polio shot. We are still debating the other shots. She won't be getting the Chickenpox vaccine unless she doesn't get Chickenpox by the age of 12, then we will have to seriously consider giving her the vaccine. The two that we are left to ponder are the MMR and the season flu. Now, the MMR leaves me hesistant for a couple reasons, one being that it seems unnecessary because all three illness are usually mild and she has a very small chance of actually contracting, the second being that it is a live virus vaccine that can on very rare occasions actually cause the illnesses they are designed to prevent. I am just not the type to inject her with unnecessary anything to protect others, that logic isn't all that logical in my mind. The seasonal flu vaccine just plain bothers both me and Mr. Short. Chances are she won't be getting either.
- Did a fair amount of crafting, compared to how much I usually get to do in a week. I made 5 cards and several hair bows. I am really trying to build up a stockpile of crafted items to place in my Etsy shop that I will be opening soon. I am working with my brother's girlfriend on a fundraiser for an organization she is a part of. She is going to be gathering orders for me to make handmade cards. This opportunity will get my name and Etsy store out there, which really excites me. I love crafting of all different sorts and the idea of crafting for a living is a dream, a real dream.
- Did Mr. Short's taxes finally. I say finally because we have been waiting for his W-2 since the first of the year. The company that he works for posts their W-2 on a website so they can easily access them incase they lose the one that comes in the mail or it doesn't show up for whatever reason. Last year his tax return was quite large, so we were like kids trying to sleep on Christmas Eve waiting to do his taxes this year. This year's refund I think is slightly larger than last years. We are just excited to use the money to take care of some things and to purchase some items that we have been wanting. You know, those larger purchases that you put off until a large sum of money falls into your lap? I am most excited to get a digital SLR camera. I have wanted such a camera since before last year's refund and I almost got one last year with the refund but decided to wait a little longer and do some research so that I knew what I wanted. Well, this is the year. We need a camera with better picture quality than a point-and-shoot for these blogs as well as for my Etsy shop. I think we will also be getting some external hard drives to store videos and pictures on so our computers don't get bogged down. We still have to sit down and nail down a list of things that we will be doing with the refund money, but no matter what we do, we are excited.
- Went to the Secretary of State to renew the registration and my license. I know that doesn't sound exciting, but whenever something like that is finally taken care of I feel a huge weight off my shoulders and I feel like such an adult. So, we are insured, registered and I am licensed, it feels good. Yea, I'm lame.
I have been posted to the movie and music category blogs, granted the posts were a little late, but hey, I am just trying to get used to this posting routine. Anyhoo, check those out by clicking the navigation buttons at the top of this blog.
Until next week,
Mrs. Short
